Kick Ass Batons
I wanted to go to the Manchester Comic Con as 'Kick Ass' and had already bought the costume off the internet but I needed to make the batons.
I bought wooden broom handles from B&Q and cut them down to size. I then painted them with a green fence paint and made the handle straps and end caps with black Gorilla tape. Using a Sharpie pen I drew a diagonal line all the way up each pole to look like the baton grip.
To make the baton holder I made tubes of black card to fit the batons exactly. I then glued the tubes to the base shape that was also made of black card and covered it all in black felt. My Granddad helped me to cut out the circles with a scalpel and I used gold split pins to add detail.
The holder was then attached to the costume using velcro strips. I used fabric glue to glue the velcro to the costume.
